Will SATA work in NVMe?

Will SATA work in NVMe?

In short answer, no. The physical connectors are completely different and not compatible.

There can be attempts to use adapters and attempts to use SATA in NVMe environments but it's a lot of effort for something that would cost as much as buying a NVMe drive from the start. It would be like plugging in an old keyboard from 1992 to a 2019 MacBook Pro. You would be required to add so many adapters where using either a wireless keyboard or a newer wired to use the least amount of adapters.

In the end, it's just silly.
