For any company that moves large amounts of data on a daily basis, your network is a critical part of your infrastructure. Your network speed will determine how much data you can move in a given time.

The typical home or office network is 1G. They still run on 1G because for your general applications  connecting to your company shared storage system for, Word and Excel documents 1G is plenty.  Any company that requires moving large multimedia files should be upgrading to a 10GbE network to achieve better performance.

10GbE networking is just what it sounds like. It's a network that runs at 10 gigabits of performance  For video production or anything that you're using large amounts of data like video files, or if you need to transfer or playback media that has very high bandwidth requirements 10GbE is almost a necessity in our industry.
