Xsan Migration to High Performance NAS for Video Editing Team

 

Client example of moving Apple Xsan storage to a new high performance video network, while maintaining your fibre channel storage array.

Steps include

  1. Connect both the Platform & Xsan to a workstation
  2. Transfer data from your Xsan storage to your ProMAX Platform
  3. Remove/Repurpose the metadata controller (it's no longer needed)
  4. Put one of your Fibre Channel HBA's into the ProMAX Platform server
  5. Connect existing Fibre Channel storage
  6. Reformat Fibre Channel storage
  7. Edit & enjoy!
