Avid XpressDV System Troubleshooting Test

If you ever have a doubt that the Xpress DV system is not functioning properly, perform this simple test before calling Technical Support. The results are needed in order to help us diagnose the problem. Go through the following steps as far as possible (make note of any error messages or other unusual activity)

Trouble Shooting for Avid Xpress DV: Deleting Avid “MCSTATE” files
1) Close all applications.
2) Double Click on ?Avid HD?.
3) In the search window in the upper right hand corner of the window type: MCSTATE hit enter.
4) A window opens and shows you all the MCSTATE files on that drive. Select these files and drag them to the trash.
5) Empty the trash and close all windows.
6) Relaunch Xpress DV and try your edit again.

If this test does not complete successfully please call 1-877-776-6292 from 8am - 6pm Pacific Time, Monday - Friday. If the test does complete successfully, the card, software, computer, deck, camcorder, speakers and hard drives are working perfectly and the problem lies elsewhere.
