What is a MASTERING station?
The MASTERING component of V-SAN provides the ability to provide finished content via more traditional means such as tape or DVD. Delivering content in hard copy is still the vehicle of choice and in many cases is the only way to get the final product into the client’s hands. Whether it be legacy 3/4”, VHS, Beta SP, DigiBeta, DVCPRO, HDCAM, XDCAM, HDV, or any other format, the ability to provide broadcast-safe, high-quality and frame-accurate masters is still the pinnacle of the post production process. Our mastering stations can output a variety of ways into a plethora of physical distribution media. Mastering systems can author DVDs, print to tape, edit to tape, or output to virtually any media (with the appropriate decks). While many of our other workstations can and do master, having a dedicated machine can be a major benefit depending on your workload.
