What is an CLOSED CAPTION station?
The INGEST workstation component of the V-SAN is designed for the Assistant Editor/Capture/Logger Specialist. This component will frequently be the first in the production chain, for it is the primary point of acquisition of video by both traditional tape and newer tapeless-based systems. By isolating this task on a single workstation, other machines are freed up to perform more specific roles in the collaborative process. The INGEST workstation can provide support for virtually any format, from DV on up to uncompressed HD, depending on the specific needs of your facility. The INGEST station can be strategically situated to suit your needs as well, perhaps near an existing legacy tape library so the footage can be digitized immediately for archive on the V-SAN, and to save the hassle of having to use additional resources to retrieve materials. The whole concept of V-SAN is to provide a smooth workflow to allow your production facility to run more smoothly.
