Welcome

Welcome to another edition of the HD Educational newsletter.  Between this edition and the previous one, we have been very busy creating lots of content about HD (in HD!).

We have created a great video called Transitioning To HD (you can read more about it below in our Featured HD Article section) and have written some great articles about HD.  We’ve compiled all of these materials and have created something, which we believe is, of great value.  We are calling it the ProMAX HD Toolkit.  And guess what?  It’s free!

Read below to find out more information, however, if you just can’t wait, you can go get it now. We sincerely hope you enjoy the ProMAX HD Toolkit and we look forward to receiving your feedback.

We also want to know what you think about this HD Educational newsletter so please tell us.
We really do care!

The ProMAX HD Toolkit: Moving From SD To HD Or From 720 to 1080

If you were looking for a perfect time to switch from SD to HD (or from 720 to 1080) either in your production or post production workflows, now may be just the right time to take the plunge. HD technology has advanced enough and the prices have dropped to a point where it
makes sense to evaluate your options.

In an effort to help you understand the necessary steps to transitioning to HD, we have put together an HD toolkit that compiles great articles, a Transitioning To HD video (with over 48 minutes of great HD content shot in HD...of course!), a great promotion on upgrades and a free consultation to clarify any further questions you may have.

The Transitioning To HD video is broken down into 8 episodes covering the following information:

  • Episode 1: Why HD?
  • Episode 2: Introduction To HD
  • Episode 3: HD Formats
  • Episode 4: HD Production
  • Episode 5: Tape vs. Tapeless
  • Episode 6: HD Post
  • Episode 7: HD Delivery
  • Episode 8: The Future

Not everything is smooth and easy when switching formats due to many factors, including new resolutions sizes, workflow changes in tape versus tapeless, issues with mixing SD and HD in the same timeline, etc.  We hope that the ProMAX HD Toolkit will help you identify potential issues, prevent headaches and get you on the road to HD.

There are many reasons to consider switching to HD, including the fact that to remain competitive in this market, you need to shoot a better image then consumers are shooting their home videos with, and a lot of them are already shooting with HD cameras!

Also, most broadcast networks only accept HD footage. Finally, your clients will demand that you switch to HD, even if they want their final delivery in SD, to protect their investment for future distribution.

The ProMAX HD Toolkit is geared toward professionals working with DV or SD that want to move to HD or those on 720 wanting to move to 1080.

You can get your free ProMAX HD Toolkit at ProMAX.com/HDToolkit. I hope you enjoy it and please do send us feedback!
